AvtoVAZ says postpones start of 4-day workweek till August 31
MOSCOW, Jun 10 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ has postponed a four-day workweek to August 31 from June 29 due to a short-term demand recovery, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
"AvtoVAZ will retain a five-day workweek until August 31, 2020. We remind you that the company earlier planned to start a shorter 4-day workweek from June 29, 2020," the company said.
"In this hard period for everyone we see that thanks to the measures of industry support by the president of Russia and a gradual removal of sanitary restrictions, there is a start of a positive trend of the Russian car market recovery," CEO Yves Caracatzanis said, as cited in the statement.
He added that the company will decide on the schedule after seeing if the positive dynamics persits.
